Swimming Holes

“Because he liked to swim, he included a six-lane pool that was seventy-five feet, six inches long. The six inches were added so he could brag that it was bigger than the pool at the New York Athletic Club.”

From Chapter 3 – We Can All Eat Carrots

As befitting the title, we dive into many bodies of water:

Hotel Cap du Eden Roc Pool – L’eau for the 1%
The Mediterranean Sea along the Rivera – don’t  be deceived, the beaches are rocky  (there’s a metaphor in there somewhere)
Linden Hills Community House pool – a figment of my imagination but if it existed it would be as elegant as this
Amstel River – better to go for the art and beer than the waters
The Serpentine – in the heart of London
Hudson River –  watch out for the luxury liners and the floating debris
Venice Beach – the chilly Pacific
The Kinneret – a/k/a The Sea of Galilee
Abraham Lincoln High School – as with all high school pools, a frothy mix of chlorine and fungus
Coney Island – home of the world-famous Polar Bear Club
Lake Moosu in Canada – don’t try and find it as it only exists in my imagination
Brighton Beach in Brooklyn – a cold January morning (who is that guy?)
Rockaway Beach – Never bring a toy to the Rockaways
The Dead Sea – Live Man Float
The Mediterranean Sea – off the coast of Jaffa – and the closest one can get when swimming to Jerusalem (after that you need a camel)
